Below are a few pointers to explain in a little more detail how our SMS joblead service works and how to get the best results when using it.

How long can I make the message?

All SMS text messages are limited to 160 characters, including spaces, so only a brief job description should be supplied - just enough for the tradespeople to get an idea of what you need done. Note there is a counter on the page to let you know how many characters you have left for your message. Remember, you will receive an SMS so you can call them to discuss the job in more detail if they are interested.

What information should I provide?

You only need to provide basic facts in the SMS joblead that will be sent - enough to give the professionals receiving them an idea of what you need done. Include some idea of job size, like how many rooms, or m2, lin m, etc. - If you are needing a builder or are owner building, try to indicate at what stage you are at - eg: have plans, DA and CC (development approval and construction certificate).

How is it worked out as to which trades receive which jobs?

Each joblead is matched up to the appropriate trades by trade category, and postcode. Our system will locate up to 100 of the closest matching trades to your job within a reasonable radius of your postcode. We send to the closest tradespeople first, and if we do not recieve interest from them, we keep searching on a wider radius until we find someone for your job.

If my job is sent to 100 professionals, won't I get too many calls?

No. We statistically monitor the ratio of responses to the amount of professionals we SMS according to the trade and postcode. The average response rate of response varies widely between trade and postcode, but using statistical analysis tools, we know how many SMS we need to send to get a response for your job. It is rare that you would receive any more than one or 2 responses from your joblead, but you can always reconfirm and we will search for more. Should you receive more Replies than you require and are happy with the initial people you speak with, simply let the others know you no longer require anyone (the professionals know that the quicker they respond to any lead the better chance they have of winning the work).

How long does it take before I start getting calls?

Our system is fully automated, so when you submit a joblead it is sent to the appropriate trades immediately - it's then up to the individuals who receive these SMS as to when they are available to call - You can start receiving calls within minutes, but if the tradesperson is busy at the time they may not call back until later in the day or even tomorrow.

What if I don't get any calls?

The beauty of our service is that you will only receive calls from people that are interested in your job (that's why we need to send it out to up to 100 different professionals) - on the flip side of this though, if all the professionals that receive your SMS are too busy, or not available at the time you requested, you may not receive any calls at all. If this happens, we recommend waiting a few days and sending the message again, possibly using different wording.

Do you pre-screen the people that will be calling me?

No - our job is connecting the people needing a job done with the people in that profession in the quickest and most economical way. It is your responsibility to check up on any business and feeling confident in engaging them before doing so.

Do I have to use your website to send out a joblead or can I call you?

You can either lodge your job details over the net or call one of our friendly call centre staff that will send out your joblead for you. We try to make it as easy as possible for you by offering a local call 1300 796 279 from anywhere in Australia.

How does BANGitUP TradeSelect offer this service for free?

As we sell many products involved in building, renovating or maintaining your home (see our Product Catalogue) we offer this service to further assist those people buying their materials from us. To assist in promoting this service by way of radio, newspaper and magazine advertising (did you see us on Sunrise?, Good Morning Australia?, Domain? etc?...) e also charge the trades receiving these jobleads a small fee of less than $1 per day, which is still the cheapest way for these businesses to receive work prospects - no commissions are charged to the trades that they would pass on to you.

How can you offer this service all over Australia?

We have integrated our service with industry associations throughout the country to assist even those in the more remote areas - currently there are over 45,000 different business within our system. The beauty of this service is that it costs the same for us to send SMS to people just around the corner from us as it does to people on the other side of the country. Professionals receiving these messages are local to you so will be calling only local numbers

A person who responded to my joblead wondered how they got the message?

Through integrating our service with the many industry associations Australia wide, we rely on these associations to make clear to their members of their involvement within the service, and also on the fact that these members actually read their newsletters etc. Sometimes it will happen that these members will respond claiming to have no knowledge of BANGitUP TradeSelect - this is just reason why this may happen. Sometimes a wife, friend or other person in a business will register a business with us, giving us another person's mobile number to receive these messages on.

A person called me after receiving an SMS but they are not a tradesperson?

Sometimes a tradesperson will change phone numbers and not notify us of this. When the phone company gives this new number to someone else that person will then mistakingly receive your joblead. Simply advise that person to get in touch with us and we'll fix this up straight away.

I forgot to write down a tradesperson's details when they called?

We'll do what we can to help, but when you recieve a reply by SMS you also receive an email with the same details, and a link to your Job Page where the details of all the interested tradespeople are always available.

What happens if a tradesperson doesn't turn up for an appointment?

It is a condition of all members that if they make an appointment with any person from one of our jobleads, then they must either turn up for that appointment on time or call you. We remove any tradesperson from our service that does not comply with this simple but important condition.

Will you help me if I start having problems with one fo your members?

Absolutely. Although it must be made clear that all tradespeople responding to your joblead are independant businesses and not representatives of BANGitUP TradeSelect, we will assist where possible to prevent or alleviate any problems that may arise. Get in touch with us if you start having a problem with anyone that responds to your joblead. We act on and log all correspondence of this nature and will immediately remove any tradesperson that is found to be negligent in any way.

 

All jobleads are sent to independant businesses that are not representatives of BANGitUP TradeSelect. BANGitUP TradeSelect will not be held liable for any claims or costs incurred arising from the use of this free service.
